What is SDIZ2?
SDIZ is a comment inserter designed to process existing files.
It will insert the text contained in FILE_ID.DIZ or DESC.SDI if
an archive contains either of these standardized description
files.

TERMS. THE AUTHOR, TIM KILGORE, WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR

Why SDIZ2?
It's free. Only one other processor for existing files currently
is on the market and it isn't free.
Oh yeah, it works. Always a major plus <g>.
How it Works -
For complete instructions, just type SDIZ2 at the DOS prompt.
A help screen will pop-up. It's pretty easy to use.
SDIZ2 must be executed from the WC home sub-directory which is
typically C:\WC30. SDIZ2 can be anywhere in your DOS path.
SDIZ2 will then go through all paths for the given file area.
This includes the secondary paths as well.
SDIZ2 favors the use of FILE_ID.DIZ. If both FILE_ID.DIZ and
DESC.SDI are found, then only FILE_ID.DIZ will be used. This
was done to prevent descriptions that look like -
GREAT FILE for WildCat! This is the greatest!GREAT
FIL
I've also encountered scads of description files that do NOT
follow the standards (63 characters, 1 line for DESC.SDI -
45 characters, 15 lines for FILE_ID.DIZ). Since WCFILE is
flexible enough to handle it, SDIZ2 will go ahead and pass the
non-standard description.
You can press ESCAPE to abort the processing of files. This will
leave a file called SDIZ.TMP in the current directory. Delete
this file before you execute SDIZ2 again. This file is not
deleted because it may be useful for trouble-shooting problems.

By the way, if you use SDIZ2 and have written a nifty WC utility or
a door, don't hesitate to say thanks by sending the author a key or
registered copy of your program <g>.
On the Horizon -
Look for CWCTxtEd v1.0. It's in late beta and will soon be released.
What is that, you ask? It's a replacement for MKWCTEXT. It sports
COLOR displays of prompts, extended SEARCH AND REPLACE, and a lot
more!
SDIZ (not SDIZ2) will get upgraded to function just like SDIZ2 in
terms of adding file descriptions. Eventually the two programs
may merge into one. No set date.
